Planning a wedding in Stockholm

While it may not seem the most obvious setting for an overseas wedding, the Swedish capital of Stockholm has a lot going for it. Using a Stockholm wedding planner or not some tend to think of Stockholm as always being a little cold, thus an ideal setting for a winter wedding, but with the sun shining eighteen hours a day on this beautiful city in the summer months it really is sublime. Not as hot as some destinations like Greece or Italy granted, but every bit as stunning,  and Sweden has the land of the midnight sun. So your Stockholm will have some sunshine.

Venue
There are plenty of stunning locations around Stockholm to give you a Scandinavian dream of a wedding. From the ancient to the ultra modern, the choice is yours. Having a wedding planner take you around is one way at looking at venues Villa Pauli is a beautiful venue owned privately.  Located just 10 minutes outside Stockholm, this venue offers all types of rooms and due to its décor coming courtesy of a famous artist it’s a wonderful wedding setting.

If your ideal Stockholm wedding location is olde world, rustic and by a glorious lake then check out  Stallmästaregården.  Literally on the edge of Stockholm,This glorious treat is the home of Princess Victoria and the whole setting with the lake and grounds is a photographers dream. Getting the royal seal of approval for your wedding doesn’t happen very often but is the order of the day at Stallmästaregården.

There is an ethereal feel about the Villa Källhagen which makes it perfect for those seeking an informal wedding that is very much back to nature. Located by the sea, the photographic opportunities here are endless, absolutely gorgeous. The tranquil outdoor setting has to be seen to be appreciated, and there’s even a chance for a bit of star spotting as ABBA’s Benny Andersson lives just around the corner.

To make the most of these venues and show them off to their very best in your album nothing less than a top end photographer will do. The people, the settings, the light, the moments all need to combine to create an album of magic.  When holding your wedding in such a  venue as one of the above the essence of the day must be captured in both formal and informal shots. Having been the photographer of choice for many an overseas wedding I know what I’m talking about. You only get that once chance to capture your wedding day and if it is ruined mistiming the light or choosing the wrong spot then there is no way back unfortunately.

This is no more complicated than getting married in any other country, and much more easier that some! If you don’t speak Swedish chances are you will be using a Stockholm wedding planner to take of the details. One of their key roles is guide you through the legal side and the fact there are no residency rules regarding weddings the whole process is pretty straightforward. it is a very straightforward process when it comes to planning your dream wedding in Stockholm.

Stockholm Bröllopsmässan Bröllopsfeber ?

Stockholm Bröllopsmässan Grand Hôtel Stockholm?  Bröllopsfeber i Nacka ?  Älskar du eller avskyr dem? Som en bröllopsfotograf och har varit i branschen under ganska många år, jag letar alltid efter sätt att ta mig närmre brudpar som söker den där speciella fotografen, som kommer att fånga de magiska ögonblicken under deras stora dag. Jag tillbringar därför mycket tid att hitta nya vägar som visar de tidlösa foton jag har i min portfolio.

Nu när våren närmar sig väntar jag mig mängder av samtal från bröllopstidningar och arrangörer som erbjuder mig platser på deras olika tillställningar och mässor. Några av dessa är mycket stora företagsevenemang, och många undrar varför jag valt att ta ett steg bort från det och ifråga sätta metoden och om den ens fungerar längre.

Som en brud eller brudgum, gillar ni Bröllopsmässor och vill ni verkligen gå ifrån mässan med att boka allt för ditt bröllop? Eller är deltar brudpar i dessa event och mässor för att njuta av gratis prover som utför merparten av sin forskning på internet och via mun till mun marknadsföring? Å andra sidan, ger den underbara skapelse, internet, massor av inspiration, men på egen tid.

Jag personligen gillar inte Stockholm Bröllopsmässan /  Bröllopsfeber och deltar inte i dem längre. Visst, jag har varit på några bra mässor men jag har också varit på några som varit väldigt dåliga. Det finns mässor/event där jag har träffat några underbara par och andra där jag inte har hört någonting. Denna opersonliga metoden ser brudar och brudgummar gå runt med händerna fulla av broschyrer och flygblad som de kämpar för att ta sig runt en upptagen sal full av damer som provar på klänningar och människor som spenderar oändliga mängder tid på att försöka få en drink.

Min inställning är enkel; Jag får mer tillfredsställelse från möte med ett brudpar på ett “face to face” möte, bort från stimmet i en stor hall, som ger oss möjlighet att förstå varandras behov. Bröllopsfotografering ska vara precis som ditt bröllop. Personligt och skräddarsytt för brudparet. Jag har stora förmånen av att bli ombedd att delta i den största dagen i en brud och brudgums dag och gör allt i min makt för att göra det så speciell som möjligt.

Att välja leverantörer kan vara spännande och jag tror att folk helt enkelt trött på att delta i bröllopsmässor; där du anger en trött hall och välkomnas av ett antal människor som säljer sina varor och tjänster. Detta fungerar inte längre – brudar och brudgummar vill mycket mer än detta.

Jag har därför kommit till slutsatsen att om jag gör uppvisar det blir antingen något som jag har organiserat själv tillåter mig att skapa något annorlunda och personligt.

Wedding Venues

Finding a great venue to get married in Stockholm is not difficult at all, so not having a Stockholm wedding planner for this is Ok. Choosing though amongst the many beautiful Stockholm wedding venues on the other hand, could be a little overwhelming.

Here are some great venue recommendations:
Villa Pauli in Djursholm with incredible gardens views of the water, you have the feeling you are in the Swedish countryside, yet you are only 10 minutes from the city.
Hasselbacken– this is one of the most beautiful hotels you will ever find in Stockholm. The rooms have all been decorated perfected for a wedding photographer..
Stallmästaregården – another very popular Stockholm wedding venue, Stallmästaregården is especially beautiful during the summer and winter. This is not hard to believe, considering the astonishing beauty of the area.
Villa Källhagen – this place offers its visitors amazing views of the Nordic Museum and Djurgårdsbrunn Canal. It is definitely one of the best of its kind that you will ever be able to find in Stockholm.

But finding a good venue is not enough. Among the numerous other things that you will have to figure out is finding a good Stockholm wedding photographer. You will need someone with experience, proven track record and a great pair of hands to handle conditions that can easily change in Stockholm.
