Thursday Friday weddings

Some of my favourite weddings in Stockholm have been Friday weddings, but the latest news is Thursday is becoming the new Saturday during the credit crunch. Why are Friday weddings good, my thoughts are everybody seems so much more relaxed , guests are happier the weekend has started earlier .. and an extra day to recover in their Stockholm hotels from their wedding weekend.

Thursday is the new Saturday for some couples, says Nick Goldsmid, owner of the Luxters Barn wedding venue in Henley-Upon-Thames. “Predominantly Saturday was the key day, and then Sundays, and now we’re seeing increasing numbers choose weekday weddings – it’s cheaper,” he explains.”People are increasingly looking for a deal by booking late, and then they often play one venue off against another. We can usually help reduce costs somehow.”

Here is a destination wedding in Sweden the hotel was Berns in Stockholm it was here I photographed the fashion inspired portraits of the bride, the wedding at Skansen and the cool trendy red sofa was at Hasslebacken over looking Stockholm.

Wedding TV : Just had an exciting week topped with an interview with Wedding TV. It was lot of fun with a bunch of very creative talented persons. I had photographed Rachels wedding for Brides magazine a few weeks earlier, it was here where I met everyone, my interview went smooth , I hope with the great help of Nessa, thanks for making it easy, of course it helped having Elvis in the room with me. I look forward to it being show during May elvis-presley-wedding-tv

Bröllop Seglora Church Skansen on Djurgården

Eric And Elizabeth were married at Seglora, it felt a midsummer wedding the sun was shining what a great day. Skansen was the perfect backdrop for the bridal portraits, I love the colors there picking up all of Stockholm s colors.

Skansen is the oldest open-air museum in the world. Skansen is also a zoological park. It is located on the island of Djurgården, a royal park near the centre of Stockholm, and open every day of the year. Skansen is a world-class, open-air museum. For couples getting married in Sweden there is Seglora Church. The church comes from a parish in Västergötland. The old wooden church dating from 1730 was abandoned when a new church, built of stone, was erected in 1903. The wooden church was moved to Skansen in 1916 and found a new lease of life as one of Sweden’s most popular churches for weddings in Stockholm
